Biography

Dr. Mohammad Kamal is a German and European Board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and Fellow of European Board of Maxillofacial and Head and Neck Surgery. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Kuwait University Department of Surgical Sciences.

Dr. Kamal first completed his Bachelor of Science B.Sc. degree with magna cum laude in medical sciences at Boston University School of Arts and Sciences in 2000, then completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine D.M.D. degree with magna cum laude and ranked first at Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 2004. He has received several awards and prizes during his studies in the United States including Boston University Dean’s List 1997-2004, the American Dental Association/Dentsply Student Clinician Program Award, the Sigma Xi award and first place winner in scientific poster presentation at Boston University Science and Technology day, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Student Award, the Quintessence Award for Research Achievement, the Academy of Operative Dentistry Award, and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Award. He then pursued further clinical training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of California San Francisco before completing Doctor of Medicine M.D. degree from the American University of Beirut School of Medicine in 2011. Mohammad worked in Kuwait as a dentist and as a physician before completing surgical specialization in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at RWTH Aachen University Hospital in Germany. In addition, He has also completed joint PhD degree at RWTH Aachen University in Germany and Maastricht University in the Netherlands on describing a novel animal model for testing of bone grafting materials in alveolar cleft repair.

Dr. Kamal is well published in several internationally renowned medical journals reporting on various clinical and basic science research projects and his work has been presented and published in several medical journals and international scientific meetings.
